Bollom, Maude A. (27 July 1886 - 1 July 1974)

Mrs. Charles (Maude A.) Bollom, a resident of Memorial Home for the past two years, died Monday, July 1, at the age of 87. Funeral services are to be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Neillsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

The body of Mrs. Bollom will be in state at the Georgas Funeral Home from 9 a.m. this (Thursday) morning until noon Friday, when it will be taken to the church to lie in state there until time of services.

The daughter of Silas and Thirza McKimm Delano, Mrs. Bollom was born July 27, 1886, in Jackson County and was educated at Humbird. She worked at the printing office in Humbird until her marriage to Charles Bollom, which took place April 10, 1909, in Neillsville. In 1930, the Bollom’s moved to Neillsville where they operated Bollom’s Market.

After her husband’s death in 1968, Mr. Bollom made her home with her children before entering Memorial Home. She was a member of the united Methodist Church, of its WSCS (now UMW), of the Royal Neighbors of America and of the Women’s Relief Corps.

Surviving are three children: Ellsworth Bollom of Neillsville, Mrs. Ray (Naomi) Fradette of Eau Claire and Gareth Bollom of Neillsville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
