Mary J. Sladich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ignatius Sladich of Greenwood (Clark
Co., Wis.), has been accepted by the Peace Corps for work in the Philippine
Islands; in the urban community development program. Mary reports to San Jose,
California on July 12, where, with a group of thirty volunteers, she will go
through a pre-training staging. During this period, they will work on
administrative and medical processing, along with an orientation period where
they will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the job, the Philippines,
and the in-country training, which is to be followed by two years of work.
Mary is a 1967 graduate of Greenwood High School. In January of 1971 she
received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with a major in Social Welfare, from the
school of arts and sciences of Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire,
Wisconsin.
