Koffarnus, Leona L. (Staffeil) (29 JUL 1919 - 26 AUG 2016)
Leona L. Koffarnus, age 97, of Colby, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at
the Colonial Center in Colby.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at
Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Reverend Mark Neumann will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are
welcome from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
Leoan was born on July 29, 1919 in the Town of Colby, the daughter of William
and Emma (Dins) Staffeil.
She was united in marriage to William Koffarnus on May 18, 1940 in Iowa. He
preceded her in death on December 31, 2001. Together they farmed in rural
Curtiss. She was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.
Leona is survived by her son, Doug (Carol) Koffarnus of Auburndale; four
grandchildren: Brian (fiancée', Geri Ihrke) Koffarnus, Deanna Olk, Jeremy
(fiancée, Kari DeWitt) Olk and Erika Osegard (Jeff Hermanson); five
great-grandchildren: Colin Koffarnus, Marissa Koffarnus, Jordan Olk, Emma and
Madyson Osegard.
She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Pearl Koffarnus of Curtiss; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her daughter, Donna
Vander Velden; a brother, Roger Staffeil; three sisters: Laura Schmidt, Alice
Karsten and Auriella Bowen.
