Schultz, Dolores “Del” K. (Peter) (25 MAR 1926 - 30 AUG 2016)

Dolores “Del” K. Schultz, age 89, of Colby, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 5, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Father Peter Manickam and Father John Arnold will officiate.

Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church. A Rosary Service will be held at 8:45 a.m.

Del was born on September 25, 1926, the daughter of Walter and Katherine (Wethor) Peter in Cuthbert, South Dakota. She graduated from Burbank High School. Del was united in marriage to William "Bud" Schultz on June 3, 1947 at St. Mary’s Rectory in Colby. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2013. She worked as a secretary for the FBI in Washington DC during WWII, was a waitress and was a bookkeeper for her family business, Schultz Livestock.

Del enjoyed playing scrabble and cards, bowling, baking and also was a seamstress. Most important to her was her faith and her family.

Del is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud; her siblings: Marie Sieverding, Barbara Bangasser, John Peter, Sister Margaret Peter, Dorothy Arnold, Cecilia Krempges and Rose Ann Katzenberger; a brother-in-law, Orville Schultz and two sisters-in-law, Irene Flink and June Schultz.

The family requests memorials to St. Mary's Catholic School.

The Schultz family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Colby Retirement Center, the staff at Palliative Care at St. Joseph's Hospital and to Rosemary and Randy Wolf.
