Cox, Ephraim (31 AUG 1877 – 14 JUL 1971)

Ephraim Cox, 93, Spencer, died July 14, 1971 at the Marshfield Convalescent Home, where he had been a patient the past year.

Services were held on Saturday at the Jasperson Funeral Home, with Pastor Bernie A. Scot of the United Methodist church officiating. Pallbearers were Ray Parrette, A.C. Elliott, Ted Huber, Harold McGown, Oscar Decker, and Loren Nall. Mrs. Norman Kasper sang "Heaven is My Home" and "Precious Lord," accompanied by Mrs. Darrell Roder at the organ. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery at Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

Mr. Cox was born August 31, 1877 in Greenwood, and received his education there. He married December 26, 1907, in Greenwood, to Nettie Chandler, who preceded him in death in 1964. The couple came to Spencer about 21 years ago. He had been employed as a carpenter for many years.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Eva Van Aernam, Salinas, California; a step-son, Robert Eggett, Spokane, Washington; 20 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, two step-sons, four sisters, and four brothers.
