Madison – James W. Bayuk, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bayuk, Willard (Clark Co.,
Wis.), is a member of the freshman class that will begin the fall term at the
University of Wisconsin Medical School in September.
He is one of 124 students accepted from 1,447 applicants (467 of them Wisconsin
residents) to begin medical school this September. Seventeen of the freshmen are
women, and all but four of the class are Wisconsin residents. Upon completion of
the four year program in 1975 the students will be awarded Doctor of Medicine
degrees.
This is the largest freshman class to begin a four year medical school program
at Wisconsin and represents an increase of 8% over last year's incoming class,
according to Peter L. Eichman, M.D., Dean of the Medical School.
