DeForth, Gary L. (11 OCT 1956 - 31 AUG 2016)
Gary L. DeForth, age 59, of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at
his home under the tender care of hospice surrounded by his loving friends.
Gary was born Oct. 11, 1956, the son of Myron and Irene (Zwicky) DeForth in
Marshfield.
He graduated from Abbotsford High School and grew up in Milan. In 1981, Gary
married Shelly Paul and they later divorced. In 2001, he married Deb Pagel and
they later divorced.
Gary worked at Weathershield, Wausau Homes, Hurd’s and currently at Marathon
Cheese. He was also a car salesman and a landlord. Gary served in the Army
National Guard 724th Engineers as staff sergeant retiring after 22 years.
Gary enjoyed eating breakfast with his friends, watching the Green Bay Packers
and NASCAR races, driving his Corvette and Harley.
Gary is survived by fiancee', Lisa Fawley; and her children, Jeshua Ewer, Andrew
Ewer, Jesse Ewer, Sarah Ewer and Marissa Fawley; his aunt, Lillian Zwicky; and
many cousins. He also is survived by many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment will follow with
military honors provided by the Thorp VFW Post No. 9057 at Sylvan Cemetery, town
of Reseburg.
Family and friends are welcome from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, and from 10
a.m. until time of service Tuesday all at the funeral home.
