Opferkuch, Charles Burt (29 JAN 1935 - 12 DEC 1997)

Charles Burt Opferkuch, 62, Town of Cleveland, died Friday, Dec. 12, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 14, at Gilman Funeral Home in Gilman with Rev. Donald Price officiating.

Burial took place in Mount Nebo Cemetery in Jump River.

Charles Burt Opferkuch was born January 29, 1935, in the Town of Cleveland to Philip and Eunice (Hamilton) Opferkuch. He grew up in the Hannibal area and attended area schools.

He lived in the western part of the United States and held various jobs. He returned to the Hannibal area around 1980 and worked in the woods. His hobbies included music and art.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Opferkuch of Cortez, Colo., and Regina (Bob) Dean of Rock Springs,Wyo.; a son, Philip of Walsenburg, Colo.; two half brothers, Hans and Richard Peterson, both of Minneapolis; a half sister, Mary Hall of Columbia, Calif.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John; and a granddaughter.
