Knoop, Alice G. (29 OCT 1899 – 23 JAN 1993)
Neillsville – Alice G. Knoop, 93, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 9:30
a.m. Saturday at Neillsville Memorial Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Neillsville, with the Rev. Richard F. Weber officiating. Vocalist will be
Marilynne Maciejczak, and the accompanist will be Sharon Nemitz.
Burial will be in North Pine Valley Cemetery, town of Pine Valley, Clark County.
Grandsons will serve as active and honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday,
and then at the church one hour prior to service time on Wednesday.
She was born October 29, 1899 in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, to the late William and
Augusta (Jahn) Korth. She was educated at Reed School and Neillsville High
School. She was married to Frank Knoop November 10, 1920 in Neillsville, and he
died September 19, 1980.
After her marriage, she and her husband farmed all of their married lives in the
town of Pine Valley. She gave piano lessons for a number of years, and also
served as organist for the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Neillsville for
many years.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.
Survivors include three sons, Donald of Polo, Missouri, and Ervin and Robert,
both of Neillsville; four daughters, Adeline Schoenherr and Mrs. Kenneth (Jean)
Goetz, both of Neillsville; Mrs. Robert (Florence) Spiegel of Granton, and Mrs.
Gale (Lois) Minsaas of Durango, Colorado; 25 grandchildren ….(the rest of my
