Paulsen, Martin (23 DEC 1905 – 23 JAN 1993)
Withee – Martin Paulsen, 87, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 9:55 a.m.
Saturday at Clark County Health Care Center, Owen.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee,
with the Rev. Paul Petersen officiating. The organist will be Luella Mueller,
and Romona Weiler will be the vocalist.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers will be Ron and Jeff
Auberg, Ben Mueller, Jader, Keith and Kerry Salisbury, and Phil Cieslik.
Visitation will be at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, after 4 pm. Tuesday, and then
at the church one hour before service time Wednesday.
He was born December 23, 1905 in Chicago, to the late Paul and Martina
(Erickson) Paulsen. He moved with his family at the age of 5 to the town of
Hixon, Clark County. He married Laura Auberg December 15, 1931 at the parsonage
of United Church of Christ, Owen.
After his marriage, he and his wife lived in Withee, and he was employed as
sexton at Riverside Cemetery for 50 years, from 1924 to 1974. He also was a
clerk at Griebenow Co., Owen, for 10 years, and then worked at Hardware
Specialty in Withee for 10 years. Beginning in 1969, he was employed at the
Clark County Health Care Center for a number of years.
He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and served on the Withee Village
Board for many years.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Mark (Nona) Salisbury of Phoenix,
Arizona, three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Hans, Chris and Alfred, and one sister,
Marie.
