Roiger, Susan “Gwen” (Martin) (23 JUN 1958 - 7 SEP 2016)
Susan “Gwen” Roiger, age 58, of N8825 Business Highway 13, Township of Westboro
resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 7 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital,
Wausau where she had been a patient for the past 11 days following her battle
with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 11 at Hemer
Funeral Home, Medford, with her cousin, Rev. Norman Cotton, Jr. officiating.
Cremainal interment will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Westboro at a later
date
Visitation will be at 4 – 7 PM on Saturday, September 10 at Hemer Funeral Home,
Rib Lake and also from 1 PM until the time of services at 2 PM on Sunday,
September 11 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford.
Gwen was born on June 23, 1958, at Paducah, Kentucky, to Richard and Delores
Martin.
She attended Lyon County schools, Kentucky and was educated as a CNA & EMT.
On June 7, 1980, at Medford she married Timothy L. Roiger. He survives.
After her marriage, they resided in Kentucky and the Rib Lake/Westboro areas.
She worked as a housewife/mother, as a CNA at multiple nursing homes, and most
recently at Great Northern Cabinetry in Rib Lake. She served on the Westboro
Library board for a period of time and served on the Rib Lake ambulance service
for 15 years. She enjoyed UK Wildcat basketball, reading, gardening, her dog
Cooper, the gameshow Jeopardy, her grandchildren and helping people.
Gwen is survived by her husband, Tim Roiger of Westboro; children Shanna
(Justin) Berger of Westboro, Kassi (Zac) Vande Voort of Rib Lake, Kayla (Eric)
Poncek of Rib Lake; 4 Grandsons Wyatt and Ryan Berger, Carter Roiger and Jacob
Vande Voort; sisters Tamara (Kenneth) Morris and Sandy (Joe) Ramey both of
Kuttawa, KY.
She is also survived by her mother, Delores Martin of Westboro; and
father-in-law: Jerry (Edie) Roiger of Medford.
Gwen is predeceased by her father, Richard Martin; and mother-in-law: Nancy
Roiger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the
family for a future designation
