Henchen, Louis A. (8 September 1922 - 4 September 2016)
Louis Henchen, 93, of Neillsville died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at the Clark
County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen.
Louis A. Henchen was born Sept. 8, 1922, Globe, the son of Ewald and Imogene
(Poirier) Henchen. He attended Globe school and spent his younger years on the
family farm, becoming the head of the household when his father passed away at a
young age. He was united in marriage to Barbara Holt May 11, 1957, in
Neillsville. Louis later worked at the Neillsville Condensery and as a mechanic
at Urban Sales and Service and then at Gross Motors until his retirement April
15, 1989.
Louis enjoyed camping and tinkering in the garage. He had an amazing mechanical
ability that allowed him to fix anything from cars to TVs to washing machines
and more.
He is survived by three children: Cheryl (Steve) Stumm of Bloomer, Thomas
(Patty) Henchen of Black River Falls and Susan (Rich) Beck of Owen; four
grandchildren, Samantha (Matthew) Jandourek, Bradley Stumm, Jesse Beck and Katie
Beck; and two sisters: Eileen Henchen of Eau Claire and Elaine (David) Sinner of
Sussex.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 1987, his parents and a brother,
David in 2010.
Funeral services for Louis will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016,
at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Terry Marg will officiate.
Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5
p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday
Sept. 17, 29016 at the Gesche Funeral Home.
Honorary casket bearers are: Ed Henchen, Wilbert “Lefty” Henchen, Ed Tresemer,
Jerry Johnson, Bill Kent and David H. Sinner.
Casketbearers are: Tim Tresemer, Steve Johnson, Bradley Goetz, Randy Roehl,
David C. Sinner and Jeff Fitzmaurice.
