Although many more had been expected, only about 50 people attended last week’s informational meeting about a GWEN tower the Air Force wants to building Taylor County.

There were a few verbal exchanges between protestors and Air Force and Department of Defense officials over national defense policy, but for the most part, the meeting went smoothly.

Expected large scale opposition to the tower never materialized, and most of the questions asked were inquisitive in nature rather than confrontational.
