Neillsville Woman Killed (Taylor Co. Crash - 2016)

By Todd Schmidt

Sarah Scollay, 27, of Neillsville was killed in a single vehicle crash in Taylor County early Sunday morning.

She was a passenger in a car being driven by John Cihler, 28, of Neillsville. Cihler, was driving south on STH 73 just north of CTH V in Taylor County, when his vehicle entered the west ditch, hit an embankment and went airborne.

Scollay was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported by Medevac Air to Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.

Cihler was transported to Aspirus Hospital in Medford by Taylor County authorities. He was booked on charges of operating after suspension causing death, and was released from jail.

According to a statement given to authorities, Cihler said he was wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash, but Scollay was not. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and the Taylor County Medical Examiner’s Office are continuing the crash investigation.
