Kathleen Moore and Kenneth Petersen exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, August
2-, 1966 at St. Mary's Church. Rev. George P. Mathieu performed the double ring
ceremony before an altar banked with bouquets of white gladiolas.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Moore, Madison, are the bride's parents, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Petersen, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length empire style gown
of white peau de soie, trimmed with Alencon lace and featured Kabuki sleeves and
a detachable train trimmed with Alencon lace. Her triple tiered silk illusion
veil was held by a peau de soie bow trimmed with Alencon lace, and she carried a
bouquet of white orchids, ivy and stephanotis.
Miss Gail Papierniak, Madison, was maid of honor, and Miss Shirley Petersen,
sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid. They wore floor length gowns of aqua
organza over taffeta with modified trains and carried bouquets of white
glamelias with a cascade of ivy and white rosebuds.
Thomas Malmgren, Hartford, was best man, and the groomsman was the bride's
brother, Thomas Moore, Fort Worth, Texas. Ushers were James Petersen of Withee
and Jon Miller, Madison.
A reception was held at the Meadowview County Club, Owen, for about 175 guests.
The tables were adorned with bouquets of white gladiolas and white candles in
gold holders.
The bride's mtoehr was in the receiving line wearing a one piece dress of pink
with a pink lace over jacket, to which was pinned a white orchid corsage. The
groom's mother wore a green and silver brocade sheath and her corsage was a
white orchid.
The bride is a graduate of Stanley High School and was graduated for the
University of Wisconsin in May, and will teach high school social studies this
fall. The groom is a graduate of the Owen-Withee High School and the Madison
Business College, and is an accountant at Kayser Motors Inc., Madison.
Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the young couple will be at home
to their friends after August 25 at McFarland, Wisconsin.
