The sun shone with its fullest effulgence, contrary to the forecast of some of
the disgruntled and disparaging participants on August 11, 1966.
The household of one Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hiebsch of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) was
virtually "jumping" with excitement in preparation of a reunion and tidal wave
of persons from the environs and distant areas of these United States.
The guests of honor were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hiebsch of Glendale, California and
Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Boehm of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The host and hostesses, as always, welcomed each guest upon arrival, as is their
usual custom.
The delicious and delectable delights that were served were virtually "out of
this world," so to speak, both delicious and irresistible. Would be dieters
severed their weight watching routine and enjoyed the repast too.
The Joseph Hiebsch family was assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hiebsch of Colby,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Joers and daughter, Cindy; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Greschner,
with Jeff, Michael and Phillip of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hiebsch, Lisa and
Josh of Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Luknewicz Rapids, with Beth, Jay and
Mathew of Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Ella Boxrucker of Owen.
On the whole, it was a most delightful and gratifying day. The afternoon was
spent in game playing and other diversions.
Each family wending their long trek homeward at eventide. The Richard Boehn's
departing with the Frank Hiebsch family, where they were remaining for the
weekend. The Oscar Hiebsch family went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arne Kolpanen,
whom they were visiting.
