Hamann, Milda L. (Ballerstein) (21 MAY 1918 - 18 JAN 2009)
Milda L. Hamann, 90, Wausau, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Wausau Manor.
She was born May 21, 1918 in Edgar, daughter of the late Gustave and Alice (Eggebrecht)
Ballerstein. On May 14, 1938 she married Royal Hamann in Edgar. He preceded her
in death on March 3, 2005.
Milda and Royal farmed in the town of Frankfort for many years. At St. John
Lutheran Church, town of Wien she taught Sunday School and was a member of the
Ladies Aide. She was also a member of the Happy Homemakers Club.
Survivors include her children, Janice (Ronald) Brown, Edgar, Kenneth (Sharon)
Hamann, Wausau and Judy (Laurie) Hubbard, Weston, 12 grandchildren, Jeffrey
(Lori) Hamann, Wausau, Sara (Tim) Blokhuis, Wisconsin Rapids, Douglas Brown,
Edgar, Stacey Brown, Stratford, Larry (Wendy) Brown, Eau Claire, Bruce (Jamie)
Brown, Antigo, Beverly (Todd) Schwantes, Oconto Falls, Christopher Hubbard,
Houston, Texas, Michelle (Joel) DeBoer, Weston, Rick (Chris) Walters, Florida,
Randy (Julie) Walters, Milton, Steven (Debi) Walters, Appleton, 17 great
grandchildren, two sisters, Arlene Krueger, Alabama and Eleanor Eggebrecht,
Wausau. Milda is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter Carol
Walters and one great granddaughter, Liliana Walters, one brother, Clarence
Ballerstein and one sister, Viola Hamann.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009 at St. John
Lutheran Church, High Steeple, town of Wien. The Rev. Matthew Christian will
officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday
from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of
arrangements.
