Petersen, Alfred “Hunsie” E. Jr. (12 NOV 1927 - 25 SEP 2016)

Alfred “Hunsie” E. Petersen, Jr., age 88, of the Town of Browning, Medford, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25 at Deerview Meadows Assisted Living, Medford where he had resided for the past month.

Services will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford with Rev. James Krueger officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services on Saturday, October 1 at the church. Interment will take place at Medford Evergreen II Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gene Title, Jim and Matt Jari, Tyler, Zachary and John Brost.

Alfred was born on Nov. 12, 1927 in the Township of Chelsea to the late Olga (Bahr) and Alfred Petersen, Sr. He attended the Town of Chelsea Elementary and Mathey Elementary School, Town of Medford.

Alfred farmed his whole life in the Townships of Chelsea and Browning until retirement. After his retirement, he worked for the Taylor County Green Thumb. He enjoyed trips to the casino, card playing and coffee clutches with friends. He was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Alvina Petersen in 1962 and brother, Arvin Petersen in 1987.

Alfred is survived by aunts/uncles, cousins, many special friends and neighbors.

Per Alfred’s request, any memorial contributions are to be given to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church of Medford.
