Carol T. Novitzke, (O'Connor) (24 JUL 1934 - 29 SEP 2016)
Carol T. Novitzke, 82, Edgar, died Thursday September 29, 2016 at St. Joseph
Hospital, Marshfield.
She was born July 24, 1934, in Mosinee, daughter of the late John and Jenny
O'Connor. On June 8, 1953, she married Alvin J. Novitzke at St. Paul Catholic
Church, Mosinee. He preceded her in death January 7, 1998.
In 1952, Carol graduated from Mosinee High School and after her marriage was a
homemaker and stay at home mom. A longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Carol was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women and was a lay
distributor.
Carol was a woman of faith her frequent Novenas were an inspiration in her life.
She was a great cook—no one ever left her house hungry. Among her favorite
things to do were, swimming, gardening, playing cards and visiting with friends.
Traveling was a favorite pastime and Carol was especially fond of the trip to
her ancestral Ireland. Carol also enjoyed watching the wildlife through the
window, feeding the birds and loved her cats.
Survivors include five children, Mary Kay Novitzke, Pine Bluffs, Wyo., Michael
(Susan) Novitzke, Edgar, Nancy Mead, Mesa, Ariz., Jane (Kent) Weiler, Chippewa
Falls and Joan (Lloyd Baumann) Novitzke, Edgar; Grandchildren, Chris (Bekah)
Novitzke, Amy (Matthew) Blair, Sara Novitzke, Livia (Grant) Humerickhouse,
Andrea Weiler, Alison Weiler and Amanda Thiel; Great grandchildren, Annie and
Addie Novitzke and Elijah Blair; Siblings; Don (Patricia) O'Connor, West
Virginia, Floyd (Delores) O'Connor, Wausau, along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew
Thiel, a great granddaughter, Scarlett, a brother, Mark O'Connor, three sisters,
Eileen O'Connor, Bernadette Killin, Luella Wehrenberg and a nephew, Bobby Killin.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday October 3, 2016 at St. Mary
Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will
be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee.
Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the
church.
