NHS Class of 1961 (Reunion – 9 September 2016)
Neillsville High School Class of 1961 held its 55th reunion Sept. 9, at Apple
Valley. Tom Mack and Karen Hoppa emceed the informal meeting.
Satruday, Sept. 10, many attended the 1960s decade reunion at Neillsville
American Legion with over 275 in attendance.
Attending one or both of the events from Wisconsin were: Denny and JoAnn Brown,
Columbus; June (Rothenburger) and Jon Karnitz, Wisconsin Rapids; Tom and Karleen
Krall, Big Bend; Vic Gilbert, Neenah; Tracy and Kay Heck, Greenwood; Roger and
Carol Krause, Markesan; Tom and Bridget Mack, New Berlin; Gerry Marden and
Sharon Lloyd, Spencer; Howie Olson, Ogema; Pearl (Kalsow and Jim Tank, Grand
Chute; Georgiann (Anding) and Bill Howard, Earl and Judy Vine and Caroline
(Marg) and Roger Helm from Granton; Stan and Terriann Kurasz, Morrison, IL;
Carol (Ebert) Hindirchs, Irving, TX; Pat (Kuhn) Sorenson, Longmont, CO; Vickie
Dux, Marshfield; Janice (Lindow) and Ron Kallion, Isle, MN.
Neillsville attendees were: Al and Sue Bredlau, Karen (Thoma) Hoppa, Sandy
(Foemmel) and Denny Larsen, Dale and mary Ann Meyer, Wayne “Bill” Oldham, Carol
(Henchen) Schaub and Joan (Schultz) Zickert.
Many attended breakfast Sunday at the Legion. Taps were played by Gary Thornton
(retired 30-year military veteran) in observance of the 15th anniversary of the
Twin Towers bombings.
