Nemitz, Margaret Rose (3 June 1915 – 29 September 2016)
Margaret Nemitz, 101, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Neillsville, died Thursday,
Sept. 29, 2016, at the Wissota Health Center in Chippewa Falls.
Margaret Rose Nemitz was born June 3, 1915, in Glendive, MT, the daughter of
Chauncy and Clara (Carpentier) Bacon. She attended Washington Grade School in
Glendive. Then she worked washing clothes, taking care of children and at a
library. She was united in marriage to Arthur Nemitz Oct. 19, 1938, in Glendive.
They moved to Neillsville, where they farmed until 1967. Oct. 12. 1967, Margaret
began working for the Neillsville Hospital as a nurse’s aide, staff clerk and in
therapy. She retired in 1979 to care for her husband. Art died in 1983. In 1993,
Margaret moved to the 6th Street apartments.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and their Ladies Aid
in Neillsville.
She is survived by two children: JoAnn (Richard) Roycraft of Chippewa Falls, and
Richard (Nancy) Huckstead of South Carolina; grandchildren: Wayne (Nancy)
Huckstead, Wesley (Amber) Huckstead, Daniel (Julie) Roycraft and John (Brianne)
Roycraft; great-grandchildren: Tayler and Gabrielle; two sisters: Dolly
Robinson-Stout and Dorothy Kauffman; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Margaret will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016,
at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert
will officiate. Music will be provided by Judy Trunkel, organist. Interment will
be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Wednesday at St. John’s.
Casketbearers are Herb Nemitz, Melvin Nemitz, Dan Roycraft, John Roycraft,
Brianne Roycraft and great-granddaughter Gabrielle Schmidt.
