Bjorn, Anna (25 JUN 1884 – 9 OCT 1966)
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Amelia Bjorn, 82, rte. 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.),
were conducted October 12 at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Fr. Richard
Hewetson of St. Katherine's Church officiated, with burial being made at
Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Albert Novak, Orville Fillip, E. Bjorn, Edward
Bjorn, William Mattson and John Kadingo.
Mrs. Bjorn passed away Sunday morning, October 9, 1966 at Victory Hospital,
Stanley, succumbing to a lingering illness which had confined her to her bed at
home for the past 10 years.
Mrs. Bjorn was born June 25, 1884, in Finland, and as a young woman came to the
United States. Her marriage to Sylvester Bjorn, who preceded her September 7,
1963, took place March 1, 1908, at DeKalb, Ill.
In 1914 the couple came to the Owen area and farmed in the town of Green Grove
until their retirement.
Survivors are a son, Theodore, Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Uno (Mary) Phillips,
rte. 1, Owen; and Mrs. Allen (Doris) Hardrath, Happy Camp, California; six
grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A son, Arnold, preceded her in death.
Several nieces and nephews from away returned here for the funeral services.
