Nick LePage spent the weekend in Milwaukee and Sunday met his wife at O'Hare
Field, Chicago, when she returned from San Francisco after spending a vacation
with her daughter, Sharon and family, and also her sister at Lake Port,
California.
Mrs. Zalabsky drove to Marshfield St. Joseph's Hospital Friday, bringing Frank
Sr. home. His condition is much improved and he will be home for four weeks now.
He is able to get around on crutches and even has been going up and down 14
stairs in his home. Friends are welcome to stop in at any time. Mrs. Zalabsky is
home for two weeks recuperating from an injured finger.
Mrs. Jeanne Hamilton and members of her play cast attended the play at Kjer
theatre at the Wisconsin State University Wednesday night of last week. Others
attending were Jane Miller, John Kallio, Charlene Hansen, Marlene Carlson.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Petke of Minneapolis spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Otto Becher Sr. at their cottage on Lake Holcombe.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wolfram took a drive last week Wednesday to Turtle Lake,
Clear Lake and Amery, visiting rleatives and friends. They returned home
Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wolfram and Mrs. Mable Myhre of Stanley visited Sunday
afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Myhre in rural Stanley.
Those attending the wedding of Phillip Lyndahl and his bride, a girl from
Germany, held in Chippewa Falls Saturday, were Mr. and Mrs. Celand Melbinger,
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bergstrom, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wendt, Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Riber, Mr. and Mrs. Orland Woodbeck, Mr. and Mrs. Bertel Miler, and Mr. and Mrs.
Roger Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bergstrom visited the past two weekends at the Celand
Melbinger home and attended the Woodbeck – Peterson wedding on the 15th and the
Lyndahl wedding on the 22nd.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sullivan of Sheffield, Iowa, visited at the Celand Melbinger
home over the weekend and attended the Woodbeck – Peterson wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schliefe and son drove to Madison Saturday night to spend
Parents' weekend with their son, John, a senior student at the university.
Mrs. Mary Reinertson, Pat, and Mrs. T.J. Nevala visited in Stanbough, Michigan
over Saturday and Sunday at the home of Mrs. Reinertson's sister, Mrs. Signa
Litban.
Recent visitors at the home of Mrs. Hilda Pederson were Miss Edna Gee and Louis
Engelhart of West Allis, and Mrs. Sig Queger of Milwaukee, Mrs. Louis Rusch of
Chippewa Falls and Sven Jensen of Colorado.
Mr. and Mrs. Milfred Wenzel, Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace wood, Withee,
returned home after a two week trip through Canada and the eastern states. They
visited Eugene Wenzel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milfred Wenzel at Ft. George Meade,
Maryland. They also took a tour of several historical sites and national capitol
buildings at Washington, D.C.
We received a note this week from the Wilbur Thorne family, who moved this past
year from here to Wickenburg, Arizona. They have now bought a mobile home and
are living at Desert Canyon Trails Ranch and enjoying the Arizona sunshine. They
have met a lot of Wisconsin people, with their closest neighbor being from
Madison and their pastor from Shawano.
