It is learned that the Krueger boys are already at work at new jobs at Waupun, Leslie being placed in the twine plant and Frank in the knitting works.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gehrt on Monday evening.

Herman Brandt got home yesterday from Great Lakes Naval Station.

Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Olson spent Sunday with friends at Black River Falls.

Miss Edith Thayer is here from Minneapolis for a visit with friends.

Miss Louise May of Grand Rapids is visiting her brother, George, and wife.

Bob Brauer and son, John, went to Oshkosh Saturday night to spend a few days.

Miss Marcella Neis returned home from Dubuque, Iowa, the first of the week.

Mrs. W.L. Smith, Mrs. W.J. Rush and Mrs. Shanks were at Marshfield yesterday.

Mrs. Clara Prock and Mrs. Hattie Klauer went to Wausau yesterday to spend a few days with relatives.

Mrs. Robinson returned Tuesday evening from her winter’s visit with her daughter in Montana.

Harry Carl and Harold Bullard will open up the Neillsville garage and will take care of your automobile work in a careful and prompt manner.

Mrs. Fred Gotchling and little son, Durell, went to Adams to visit her husband and from there went to Milwaukee to visit her sister, Miss Meta Coughlin, returning home Saturday.

Thomas Salisbury, aged 72, was sentenced Thursday afternoon in Judge Reid’s circuit court to serve a term of five years in the state penitentiary at Waupun on a charge of assaulting District Attorney John Roberts of Grand Rapids, with intent to kill and murder. The crime for which Salisbury was prosecuted in the state vs. Thomas Salisbury was committed in December last at Grand Rapids.
