Koschak, Pvt. Steven J. (Military -1974)
Pvt. Steven J. Koschak, son of Mr. and Mrs Frank H. Koschak, Rt. 1 Willard,
recently completed nine weeks of advanced individual training at the U. S. Army
Infantry Training Center, Ft. Polk, La.
He received general training as a light weapons infantryman and as a mortar and
recoilless rifle crewman, in addition in specialized weapons instruction.
He also was taught the proper use of high explosives and the placement,
detection and disarming of mines.
Teamwork was emphasized while he learned to work as a member of a rifle squad,
mortar squad or direct fire section. Each team member completed the training
well qualified to perform other jobs in case of casualties.
