Mr. and Mrs. Carl Riber returned home Monday from Milwaukee where they spent
Christmas with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Nic Rand. While there
they enjoyed telephone greetings from their son, Tom, a serviceman stationed at
San Francisco and daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Niemi Jr. in Lake
Worth, Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wendt and son Randy returned Tuesday from Belvidere, Ill.,
where they spent the Christmas holiday with their daughter and husband, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Waldeck and family.
Mr. and Mrs. S.E. Grimes drove to Minnetonka, Minn. Saturday and spent Christmas
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Altenburg and family. On Sunday they returned
home, being accompanied by their daughter, Jane, and Mrs. Hazel Altenburg, as
far as Eau Claire, where she boarded a plane returning to her home in Oregon.
Richard Hughes of Lansdale, Pa. visited from Friday through Sunday at the home
of his parents, mr. and Mrs. R.F. Hughes. Accompanying him home was his fiancé,
Miss Lock of Madison.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wolfram enjoyed the Christmas holiday weekend visiting at
the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Erickson and
family, at Stoughton, and Dr. and Mrs. Martin Fleigel at Madison. Their
Christmas was also saddened by a call from their son Rodger of Eau Claire,
saying Edward Myhre of Eau Claire died of a heart attack on Christmas Day at
9:30 a.m. He was a brother to Mrs. Wolfram.
Carol Carlson returned to her employment in Madison Monday evening, after
spending the Christmas holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Carlson.
Cheryl Chun, sophomore student at the University of Wisconsin at Madison,
arrived here Friday evening and remained until Monday night, enjoying the
Christmas holidays at the J.R. Barager home and with her former roommate, Jean
Barager.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lokken of Minneapolis spent Christmas at the homes of their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken of Curtiss and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fricke, City.
Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Wood and sons were dinner guests Monday evening at the J.R.
Barager home.
Mrs. Royal Bacon of Monroe was here from Wednesday of last week until Tuesday,
when she returned home with her husband. She had been here with her mother, was
hospitalized and underwent surgery at Marshfield. Also, here over Christmas was
Mrs. Bruchert’s sister, Ella Ferguson of Milwaukee, who spent a week with her in
Marshfield while she was in the hospital.
