Gust, Henry (22 SEP 1881 – 25 DEC 1966)
Henry Gust, 85, city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), died at 8:10 a.m. Sunday at
Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o’clock from St. John’s
Lutheran Church, Withee, with Pastor LeRoy Urman officiating. Interment will be
made in Lakeview Cemetery at Eau Claire.
Friends may call until noon today at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home where the
body is reposed.
Mr. Gust was born September 22, 1881, in Cottonwood County, Minn., and in 1911
came to Ingram, Wis. He then lived at Eau Claire and La Crosse before coming to
Owen in 1943. He worked as a meat cutter at the Clark County Hospital and later
at Thorson’s IGA Store here until his retirement several years ago.
His marriage to Blanche Warner, who preceded him in death November 30, 1902,
took place in 1901 at Gingham, Minn. In 1944 he married Mrs. Augusta
Bruckschlager, who preceded him in death on dece
19, 1962.
Survivors are two sons, Glen Gust, Caro, Mich.; and Daniel Gust, Onalaska; a
daughter, Mrs. S.M. Johnston, Detroit Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha
Rogers, Casper, Wyoming, and Mrs. Emma Harmon, Shawano; eight grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, brother and a sister.
