Schreiner, Charles "Charlie" E. (1 FEB 1953 - 17 APR 2014)
Charles "Charlie" E. Schreiner, 61, Wausau, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at
Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
He was born February 1, 1953 in Wausau, the son of Margaret "Marge" (Diers)
Schreiner of Wausau and the late Frank Schreiner. On May 12, 1979, he married
Monica Corey at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. She survives.
Charles was a graduate of Marathon High School and earned an Associate degree
from North Central Technical College, Wausau. He was employed at the former
Marmet Company in Wausau and most recently worked at Wausau Papers for 19 years.
Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his two sons,
playing golf, basketball and softball, and building his log cabin.
Survivors include his wife, Monica Schreiner, Wausau; three children, Evan
(Christina) Schreiner, Stevens Point, Steve Schreiner and Emily Schreiner, both
of Wausau; his mother, Marge Schreiner, Wausau; three sisters, Jean Matushak,
Marathon, Carol (Drew) Buehler, Wausau and Nancy (Robert) Robinson, Rothschild;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Barb (Hamer) Campbell, Susan (Fred) Krueger, Sally
(Ron) Schroeder, John (Kathie Berkvam) Corey and Mary (Lon) Roberts; many aunts,
uncles, nieces and nephews; and life-long friends Star, Waine, and Gene.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Schreiner,
and one brother-in-law, Tom Matushak.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014
at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
There will be a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
A memorial fund is being established in Charles' name.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Christopher
Peterson, Dr. Darryl Barton, Dr. Kevin O'Connell and Dr. John Wheat and the
staff at Aspirus Regional Cancer Center and Aspirus Hospice House for the
wonderful care and support given to Charles, as well as friends and family for
their love and support.
