Mellenthin, Lucille F. (Fischer) (14 Sep 1932 - 6 OCT 2016)

Lucille F. Mellenthin, Age 84, of Marshfield, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Marshfield surrounded by her family and under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Monday, October 10, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate.

Music will be provided by Cindy Penker playing for the St. John’s Funeral Choir. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday at the church from 9AM until the time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Lucille’s five grandchildren: Kendra, Jodi, Tara, Secily and Ashley.

Lucille was born in Marshfield on September 14, 1932 to John and Mary (Krohn) Fischer. She attended Mannville Country School and St. John the Baptist Catholic School.

Lucille was united in marriage to Arnold Mellenthin at Our Lady of Peace on June 10, 1952. The couple resided in Marshfield and raised their three children. Lucille and Arnold celebrated 64 years of marriage in June. Lucille was employed at the Marshfield Care Center for 22 years as a laundry assistant, retiring in 1997.

Her hobbies included laughing, baking, sewing, dancing and bingo. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield and their PCCW.

Survivors include her husband Arnold of Marshfield; her three children: Jean (Paul) Jantz of River Falls, Sue (Pete) Korpowski of Stevens Point and David (Alicia) Mellenthin of Burlington, IA; her six sisters: Florence Hoffmann of Green Bay, Marie Blanchard of Marshfield, Pat (Jerry) Pankratz of Lake Tomahawk, Joyce (Ray) Vander Zanden of Charnahan, IL, Karen (Jeff) Belk of South Milwaukee and Shirley Fischer of Rice, MN; her two brothers: Jim (Jackie) Fischer of West Bend and Bob (Mary) Fischer of Oconomowoc. Lucille is further survived by her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Arlene Croell and MaryJo Weinfurtner; two brothers: Glen and Larry Fischer; two sisters-in-law: Germaine Croell and Ann Fischer and two brothers-in-law: John Croell and Lawrence Hoffman.

The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Atrium Post Acute Care and Ministry Home Care Hospice for the wonderful care of Lucille. Arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
