Havelin, Mary (8 MAR 1876 – 17 FEB 1967)
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Havelin, 90, who passed away Friday, February 17,
1967 at the Havenet Nursing Home, Owen, were conducted Tuesday of this week.
Services were held at the Bethany Lutheran Church with Rev. Henry W.
Luetkehoelter officiating. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Matt Bombach, Uno Kolpanen, Wm. Kangas, Ben Hill,
Art Himes and Kauno Niemi.
In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Matt Bombach, Mrs. Wm. Kangas, Mrs.
Ben Hill and Mrs. Uno Kolpanen.
The former Mary Davol was born March 8, 1876 in Cokato, Minn. Her marriage to
Otto Havelin took place Sept. 10, 1897 at Ironwood, Michigan.
In 1911 they came to the Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) area and farmed until 1945, when
they moved to the city of Owen. For the past two years Mrs. Havelin ahd resided
at the Havenet Nursing Home.
She was a charter member of the Bethany Lutheran Church here.
Survivors are three sons, Walfred, Owen; Art, Phoenix, Arizona; and Emil
Phillips; three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Parvee, Milwaukee; Mrs. Pearl Arola of
Owen; and Mrs. Mabel Earl, Boise, Idaho; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Anderson of
Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Two children preceded her in death.
