Poppe, Henry (25 MAR 1876 – 05 MAR 1967)
Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday March 7, 1967, funeral services were conducted
from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen, for Henry Poppe, 90, a lifelong
resident of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Sunday at the Clark County Home
for the Aged in Greenwood.
Rev. H.W. Luetkehoelter, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee officiated
at the final rites, and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Poppe was born March 23, 1876, in the Town of Longwood, Clark County, and
his married to Josephine La Flex, who preceded him in death in 1960, took place
June 5, 1898. He had been employed as a woodsman and logger until his
retirement.
Survivors are four sons, Clarence, Eau Claire; Kenneth, Minneapolis; Oliver and
Russell of California; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sadie) Sorenson,
Minneapolis; Mrs. Walter (Barbara) Timmerson, Withee; Mrs. Robert (Colista)
Collins, Eau Claire, and Mrs. Charles (Myrtle) Amundson, Chicago, Ill.; thirty
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
