Buchanan, Glen (10 MAR 1896 – 07 APR 1967)
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Withee Methodist Church for Glen
Buchanan, 71, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Friday at Victory Memorial
Hospital at Stanley. The Rev. Carl J. Booher officiation and burial was made at
Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Walter Klay, Jesse Capes, Harris Johnson, Sherman Ford, Sigurd
Sorensen and Wendell Steiner.
Mr. Buchanan was born March 10, 1896 in St. Charles, Iowa, and received his
education there. His marriage to Doris Clifton, who preceded him in death June
23, 1962, took place August 25, 1927, at Withee.
After their marriage the couple farmed and the Curtiss and Withee area until
1961, when they moved to the village of Withee.
Mr. Buchanan was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Norman (Charlotte) Andreasen, route 2, Withee;
two sons, Leonard Buchanan, route 2, Withee; and James Buchanan, Cadott; two
brothers, Floyd, Curtiss, and George, Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie
Carlson, Pomeroy, Iowa, and Mrs. Ray Grout, Winterset, Iowa; and nine
grandchildren.
Relatives and friends who came from away to attend the services were Mr. and
Mrs. Rudolph Jackovich of Little Chute; Mrs. George Clifton of Appleton; Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Dresser of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Ellerd Clifton and Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Rohrer of Eau Claire; Alvin Clifton and son Noel and daughter Jean of
Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Mikul and Mr. and Mrs. Don Smiley, Wausau;
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schrader of Catawba; Mr. and Mrs. Neal Klukas and Charles of
Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Smiler, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Buchanan and son
Donald, Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Buchanan, Dorchester, and The Rev Leland
Shaw and his wife, the Rev. Ellen Shaw, of Loyal.
