'Pioneer Stanley Mother Called by Death,"

Funeral services for Mrs. Maren Dorothea Lund, 76, who died at Victory Hospital March 5, were Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. J. N. Midtlien officiating at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and at burial rites at East Side Cemetery.
Mrs. Lund was born in Fyn, Denmark, May 18, 1873, the daughter of the late Anne (Hansen) Sorensen and Peter Sorensen. She lived in Denmark during her childhood. She was confirmed April 18, 1886 and came to America in 1891.0n May 10, 1891, she was married to Hans Peter Julius Lund who came to America on the same boat she sailed on.

In 1903 they moved to a farm three and one-half miles northeast of Stanley. They lived there until his death. Prevented by illness from much activity out of her home she was well known in her neighborhood, and she was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by four sons and four daughters. Albert of Neenah, Ed, Rudolph and Carl of Stanley. Mrs. Hannah Sloan of Neenah; Mrs. Anna Gregory of Goldfied, Nev.; Mrs. Christ Horgen; Mrs. Roy (Dora) Brothen of Stanley and 40 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and a sister, Karen Sorensen, and a brother, Carl Sorensen of Denmark.
