The Loyal Economic Development Corp. last week presented the Loyal Area Historical Society with an unexpected check for $3,000 to help the Historical Society pay most of the remaining part of the $37,000 loan it took out in 2004 to buy the property on Highway 98 East on which its museums are now located. The economic development group, represented by Loyal Mayor Dave Williams, will also give the Historical Society, represented by President Diana Schuette, $500 annually to help with its operating expenses.
