Mrs. Arthur Schwenke arrived at her home Thursday evening from St. Joseph's
Hospital at Marshfield, having been confined there the past two weeks as a
medical patient.
Taking the college entrance test to the university of Wisconsin, which was held
at Memorial High School in Eau Claire Saturday was Barbara Barager. Later in the
day she visited at the home of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Wood and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Missling of Shawano visited at the Victor Decker and Ray
Missling home over the weekend.
Mike Gardner visited his mother at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire Saturday,
and then drove there again on Monday, bring her home. She had been hospitalized
for two weeks receiving medical care.
Enjoying an outing at the Barager cottage Saturday, where they spent the day
making wood, were John Lesneski, W.K. Doonan and J.H. Barager.
Mrs. Herbert Haire of Withee and Mrs. Rol Haire of Owen returned home Friday
from their winter home in Clearwater, Florida, where they have enjoyed the past
three months.
Mr. and Mrs. John Habighorst and family of Columbus visited their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Habighorst and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Czeshinski over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stadler returned to their home after spending the winter in
Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mauel Sr., Henry Mauel Jr. and daughters, Linda and Carol
visited in West Bend over the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Koenig
and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pyatt entertained relatives and friends at a dinner Sunday
in honor of Clarence's birthday. Guests included their daughters and families,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Petersen and son Mike; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Baum and sons Jon and
Dale, and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Martins and sons Bill and Bob. Other guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Thorne, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dempsey, Tom and Gary; Mr. and Mrs.
Arnie Dehn and Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Petersen.
Saturday evening guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baum and Gary were his
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Baum and sons Jon and Bill, and their cousin, Bill
Martins.
Here over the weekend for the funeral of Anton Miletich were Mrs. Lillian
Huggard and daughter of Waukegan, Ill., and Mrs. Anton Miletich of North
Chicago, Ill., who spent the weekend at the Einer Watson home at Abbotsford.
Mr. and Mrs. Arne Larsen of Birnamwood visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Conzemius over the weekend.
Marvin Roberts of Waukesha and a former employee of the Owen Canning Co. visited
with friends in the city Thursday afternoon.
Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mathewson were their daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moore and family of Clam Lake.
S.E. Grimes went to Eau Claire Saturday forenoon, where he attended the Spring
Session of the Consistory Lodge. That evening he was joing by Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Stasek and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Burhop and son Allen at the banquet program.
Monday forenoon Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kowalk left for their cottage at Turtle Lake
where they will spend the summer months.
