Kallio, Mr./Mrs. Andrew (Gold – 2 JUN 1967)
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kallio of route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), were guests of
honor at a dinner and reception on Sunday, June 4th, 1967, the occasion being
their 50th wedding anniversary. It was held at the home of their daughter and
son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Petersen. Assisting Mrs. Petersen were Mrs.
Toivo Kallio, Mrs. Clarence Schultz and Mrs. James Petersen.
The 12 o'clock dinner was attended by members of the family, and neighbors and
friends were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Kallio from 2 to 5 o'clock in the
afternoon.
The table was decorated with gold tapers and long stemmed yellow roses. The
beautiful four-tiered wedding cake was baked and decorated by their
granddaughter-in-law, Mrs. Kay Petersen.
Mrs. Kallio wore a light blue dress, on which was pinned a corsage of yellow
roses, and Mr. Kallio had a yellow carnation presented to them by their one-greatgrandchild,
Michael Petersen of Withee. The honored couple receieved many lovely gifts,
cards and money.
Mr. and Mrs. Kallio were married at Iron River, Michigan on June 2, 1917, and
lived in Stombaugh, Michigan until 1929, when they moved to a farm five miles
from Owen, where they still reside. They are both in good health and enjoy
gardening and the outdoors. They are members of Bethany Lutheran Church of Owen,
and the parents of two children, a daughter, Mrs. Woodrow (Sylvia) Petersen, and
a son, Toivo, both of Owen; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
