Roy R. Durr Age 52, of Edgar, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at University Hospital in Madison.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar with Rev. Thomas Huff.

Following the Mass the Edgar VFW Post 10187 combined with Edgar American Legion Post 393 will be conducting full military honors outside the church. Committal services will take place in Saint John’s Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday at the church from 9AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer will belong to Daniel, Kevin, Aaron and Nathan Durr and James Adamus.

Roy was born on January 28, 1964 in Wausau, the son of Clarence and Sandra (Heidmann) Durr.

He graduated from Edgar High School and worked at various jobs in the area. Roy joined the United States Army in 1982 and served this country until his honorable discharge in 1986.

On June 28, 1989 Roy was married to Christine Zank in Wausau and to this union a son was born. They later divorced.

Currently, Roy was employed at the retail chain Footlocker in Wausau. His hobbies included fishing, hiking and camping. He especially loved his country music, his line dancing and his cowboy boots and hat.

Survivors include his parents Sandra and Clarence Durr of Edgar; his girlfriend Pamela Olson of Wausau, his son Nathan Durr of Weston; his siblings: Daniel (Connie) Durr of Athens, Kevin (Dawn) Durr of Edgar, Denise (James) Adamus of Mosinee and Aaron (Kelly) Durr of Wausau.

Roy is further survived by other relatives, friends, comrades and his special feline companion “Booger.”

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his brother Brian Durr, his uncle Fred Heidmann and his cat “Shadow”.

If desired, memorials in Roy’s name are being accepted by his family for a charity to be determined. Arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
