Klimpke, Irene E. (Schreiner) Lenard (10 AUG 1925 - 27 FEB 2011)
Irene E. Klimpke, 85, Edgar died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau
Hospital.
She was born August 10, 1925 in the town of Goodrich, daughter of the late Frank
and Anna (Berghammer) Schreiner. On June 14, 1945 she married Edwin Lenard in
Athens. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1983. She then married Ernest
Klimpke on April 3, 1990 in Wausau. He also preceded her in death on February
19, 2007.
For more than 25 years Irene worked at Marathon Electric retiring in 1983. She
volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and loved spending time with her
family especially her grandchildren.
Irene will be remembered for her kindness and patience. She enjoyed helping
others whenever she could. Her legacy for enjoying life and appreciating family
will live on through her children.
Survivors include her children, Kathryn Sapoznick, Skokie, Illinois, Edwin (Pat)
Lenard Jr., Cadott, Susan (Don) Wiesman and Mary Jo (Leon) Werner, both of
Edgar, nine grandchildren, Micah Sapoznick, Farrah (Tim) Uphoff, Natalie (Wyatt)
Anderson, Ross Lenard, Wendy (Jason) Wiesman, Kelly (Josh) Kramer, Robyn Wiesman
and Greg and Katie Werner, six great grandchildren, one sister, Florence Sutter,
Goodhue, Minnesota and two sisters-in-law, Marge Schreiner, Wausau and Iva
Moore, Florida.
Besides her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by her sisters, Annie
Fandre, Marian Schreiner, her brothers, Wilfred, Frank and Donny Schreiner.
A memorial mass will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at St. John
Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be
in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the
time of services all at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Irene's name.
