Jensen, Ellen Victoria (1885 – 11 JUL 1967)
Mrs. Albert Jensen passed away Tuesday evening, July 11, 1967 at the Victory
Memorial Hospital at Stanley at the age of 82. Although her health had been poor
of late, her death came as a surprise to her immediate family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock Saturday afternoon from
Nazareth Lutheran Church at Withee, with Rev. H.W. Luetkehoelter officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jens and Sam Andersen, Sig. Sorensen, Andrew
Smith, Chris Christophersen, and Art Karow.
Ellen Victoria Jensen was born in Denmark and came to the United States in 1907,
settling in Iowa. She was married to Albert Jensen on March 4, 1911in a ceremony
performed at Omaha, Nebraska. Shortly after their marriage the Jensens moved to
Wisconsin, settling on a farm in the town of Hixon (Clark Co., Wis.). Later in
1919 they moved to a larger farm in the same area, and in 1958 retired to live
in the village of Withee.
Surviving is her husband, Albert Jensen of Withee; six children, Mrs. William
(Edna) Rynko, Jens and Edward Jensen, of Chicago; Earl of Withee; Mrs. Max
(Marie) Calhoun, Libertyville, Illinois; and Mrs. Ray (Anne) Oakes, Momence,
Illinois; two brothers, Hans Jensen of California and Peter Jensen of South
Dakota; two brothers and a sister till in Denmark; twenty-four grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
