Heibel, Mary (7 JUL 1889 – 5 JUL 1967)
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Mary A. Heibel at two o'clock Saturday
afternoon, July 8, 1967, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Longwood, with Rev.
Arvin Myhrwold officiating. Burial was made in the Longwood Lutheran Cemetery
(buried as Scherf).
Serving as pallbearers were Walter Needham, Fritz Conrad, Loren Miller, Leonard
Kivviko, Lucius Bowen and James Boylan.
In charge of the floral offerings were Mesdames Fritz Conrad, James Boylan,
Walter Needham and E. Miller.
Mrs. Heibel, 78, passed away at 5:15 a.m., July 5, 1967 at Memorial Hospital in
Neillsville.
The former Mary Torgeson was born July 7, 1889 at Dodgeville. Her marriage to
Fred Scherf, who preceded her in death, took place June 1, 1925, in Iowa. In
1952 she married Leonard Heibel, who died in 1964.
Mrs. Heibel had resided in Longwood Township (Clark Co., Wis.) until 1960, when
she moved to Santa Cruz, California. In 1965 she returned to Owen, and later
entered an Eau Claire nursing home, and then Memorial Hospital at Neillsville.
Survivors are an adopted daughter, Mrs. Peter (Charlotte) Devine, route 2, Owen,
two brothers, Guleick Torgeson, Dodgeville; and Morgan Torgeson, Lon Rock; and
seven grandchildren.
