Extravaganza for Doc (3 November 2016)
“Extravaganza for Doc” set Nov. 3
Russell “Doc” Hosler Jr., shown with his daughters Melissa Hosler (left) and
Sophia Tabassi (right), was the choir director at Owen-Withee schools from
1991-2011. He was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and is currently
undergoing treatment at a hospital. An extravaganza for Doc fund raiser for the
music man will be held Nov. 3 at Owen-Withee High School. A meal will be offered
at a modes cost starting at 5:30 p.m., with a concert to follow at 7 p.m.
featuring performances by his daughters, a duet of Jerry Teclaw and Darrell
Marrier, Exit Stage Left, along with many talented students, faculty and alumni.
Caramel apple slices and pie and ice cream will be available, and a bake sale
will be offered. Numerous basket raffles will be conducted during the evening,
and a freewill offering for the concert will be taken at the door. There has
been a gofundme page created for those who wish to make a monetary donation. Go
to www.gofundme.com under Hope and a future for Doc Hosler. Doc retired in 2011
but still, kept active in the school, serving as a frequent substitute teacher.
He and his wife, Judie, reside in Owen in a home they loving restored.
