THORP – Richard Schesel, 41, Fond du Lac, a former resident of Thorp, died Sunday afternoon at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, as the result of a snowmobile accident.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp, with the Rev. Robert Wilcken officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Visitation will be at Thorp Funeral Home, from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday and then at the church from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday.

He was born Jan. 5, 1952, in Thorp, to Robert and Pearl Schesel.

He lived in the Thorp area until 1978. He then became a resident of Fond du Lac. He was employed by Tesch and Tesch Corp., Fond du Lac, as a draftsman.

Survivors include his mother of Thorp and three brothers, Robert and Randy, both of Thorp, and Roger of Fort Atkinson.
