Meyering, Marlene Joan (20 January 1964 – 3 November 2016)
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Marlene Joan Meyering, 52,
passed away surrounded by her family at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield Nov.
3, 2016, at 9:05 a.m. Marlene was born Jan. 20, 1964, in Buffalo City, IA, to
Johnnie and Marilyn Meyering. Later, Marlene moved to Minnesota, where she
attended school. After finishing high school, she moved back to Iowa, where she
worked various jobs. In 1992, Marlene moved to Neillsville, where she resided
for the rest of her life. Once in Neillsville, she worked at Weather Shield in
Greenwood for 17 years. When Weather Shield closed, she started working at
Cummins in Neillsville, where she worked for the past six years.
Marlene was a person full of live, always making everyone around her smile and
laugh. Marlene most enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved hanging out
with her children, loved spending time with her grandson and loved when she got
together with her siblings. Marlene also enjoyed watching sports, especially the
Packers. In her personal time, she enjoyed cooking meals for her family, doing
puzzle books and doing yard work. Although everyone always gave her a hard time
about it, Marlene loved working and always took on any extra hours whenever she
could.
She is survived by her four children: Jason, Michelle, Nicole and Sierra; her
partner of 22 years, Bob Bethea; and her grandson, Ethan.
Marlene is preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Meyering, who she absolutely
adored; her father, Johnnie Meyering; and her brother-in-law, Randy Olson.
Marlene will be remembered most by her personality. Anyone who has ever met her
could agree that she was constantly making jokes and always had everyone around
her laughing. She was such a positive spirit and loved life.
