Dale Lewis will leave November 6, to take part in the Olympics as a Greco-Roman
wrestler, an ‘art’ he mastered as a Marine.
Dale is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sumner Lewis, Milwaukee, and grandson of Mrs. F.
A. Haack.
He went to the state high school basketball tournament with Rib Lake and was
named to the all-tournament team. In 1952, in his senior year, he practiced with
instruction with a discus and exceeded the Class C record with a 143 foot throw
in a meet at Eau Claire. Later he placed second in the state meet at Madison.
Dale is 22 years old and now weighs 248 pounds. He is a Marine corporal at Camp
Pendleton, California and expects to return to his studies at Marquette
University when he completes his enlistment in the Marines in the spring.
