Larson, Ruth Irene (29 JUL 1967)
Ruth Irene Larson and Lonnie Carl Smith were married Saturday, July 29, 1967, at
Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson Sr., Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Smith, Fox Lake, repeated their vows at 10:00
a.m. before the Rev. Fred Karlheim. The Children's Choir sang.
The bride, escorted by her father, appeared in a floor length white empire gown
of lace and silk chiffon over satin. The gown was entrained. Her bouffant veil
was attached to a tiara of crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white
cymbidium orchids, stephanotis and baby breath.
Bridal aides, Mrs. Floyd Ackerman of Clinton, as matron of honor, and Miss
Carole Wirtala of Eau Claire and Mrs. Robert Mayr of Beaver Dam, bridesmaids,
were attired in floor length empire gowns of crepe and chiffon, aqua in color.
Their pouf veils fell from petal headpieces and each carried a bouquet of a
white orchid and stephanotis.
The bride's mother chose an aqua dress for her daughter's wedding, with white
accessories. The groom's mother wore a brown iridescent three piece suit of
Thailand silk, with beige and olive accessories. The mothers wore matching white
orchid corsages.
Attendants of the groom were Paul Graff, Wisconsin Rapids, best man, Dennis
Giere, Antigo and Robert Mayr of Beaver Dam, groomsmen. Arthur Feldman and
Thomas Miller of Owen seated wedding guests at the church.
A wedding reception and buffet lunch took place at eleven in the morning until
four p.m. at the Meadowview Country Club. After a wedding trip the young couple
will reside at 407 E. 5th Street, Owen (Clark Co.).
The bride is a 1960 graduate of WSU, La Cross, and is a physical education teach
and basketball coach in the Owen-Withee School system.
