Knebel, Katherine (6 DEC 1882 – 7 AUG 1967)
Mrs. George Knebel, nee Katherine Parker, passed away August 7, 1967 at the age
of 85 years at Milwaukee County General Hospital. Death came as a result of a
cerebral stroke. She was a resident of the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home for the past
three years.
Born December 6, 1882 in the town of Beaver, Clark County, to Mr. and Mrs. John
Parker. She married George Knebel at Colby in 1902. Mr. Knebel was employed by
the John S. Owen Lumber Co. for many years. After he husband's death in 1945 she
moved to Cudahy, where she resided prior to entering the nursing home.
She leaves to mourn, one daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Nina) Downing and her beloved
son-in-law; two grandchildren, Galen Downing and Mrs. Frank (LaVern) Zielinski;
two great-grandchildren, Sharon and John Zielinski, all of Cudahy; one
half-sister, Mrs. Clara Miller, Chicago; nephews, nieces, great-nieces and
nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Nero Funeral Home in Cudahy on August 9th. Interment
was made at the Forest Hill Cemetery, South Milwaukee with the Rev. Harding
officiating.
Pallbearers were Leo O'Dell, Paul Miller, Robert Bertram, Frank Zielinski,
Joseph Zielinski and Eino Backe.
