Mowery, Elmer Ernest (15 FEB 1898 – 2 SEP 1967)
Ser vices were conducted Tuesday, September 5 at Alliance Church, Owen, for
Elmer Ernest Mowery, city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), who died of a coronary attack
September 2, 1967. The Rev. Arnold Woodring officiated, and burial was made in
the Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wilford Marcott, Alfred Thompson, Floyd Buchanan, Gene Adams,
Joe Adams and C.E. Beck.
Mr. Mowery was born Feb 15, 1898 at Lima, Ohio, and later came to the Owen and
Curtiss area, where he farmed until his retirement. He had served as assessor in
the town of Hoard for 21 years.
His marriage to Anne Becken(?), who preceded him in death in 1956, took place
June 23, 1923, in Chicago. December 28, 1957 he was married at the Alliance
Church in Owen to Marie Miller, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, James Mowery, Faribault, Minnesota; a daughter, Mrs.
Linwood (Martha) Marriss, Stevens Point; eight grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. J.T.
(Cecil) Miller, Lima, Ohio; and a brother, Paul Mowery, Lima, Ohio.
