Devine, George E. (26 MAR 1897 – 8 SEP 1967)
George E. Devine, 70, a resident of Boyd, and former resident of Owen (Clark
Co., Wis.), died at St. Joseph's Hospital Friday.
Mr. Devine was born in Glenwood City, March 26, 1897. He attended schools there
and in Madison, after which he resided in Owen until his marriage November 25,
1949 to Leone Etten of Boyd. Since their marriage they have made their home in
Boyd. Mr. Devine was an electrician b trade, and retired five years ago.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Eau
Claire Local No. 953; a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph's Catholic
Church, Boyd; a World War I veteran and a member of the American Legion at Boyd.
Surviving are his wife, Leone; three brothers, James, Withee; Howard, Owen, and
Jack of Warren, Ohio.
Services were conducted at 10 o'clock Monday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic
Church at Boyd, with Father Vincent E. Schwartz officiating. Burial was made at
St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Military rites were conducted by the American Legion Post of Boyd.
