Bauer, Robert J. (20 APR 1925 – 11 NOV 2016)
ROBERT J. BAUER, age 91, of Loyal, WI, passed away at Ministry St. Joseph's
Hospital, in Marshfield, WI, on Friday, November 11, 2016. Funeral services will
be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church,
in Loyal. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate and burial will follow in St. Anthony
Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Duell, Mitchell Bauer, Jeff Bise,
Jamii Bentzler, David Johnson, Michael Bauer, Jeremy Bauer, and Kade Hinker.
Visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 15,
2016 from 4pm to 8pm, with a 7:45pm Knights of Columbus rosary service.
Visitation will also be held at the church, on Wednesday, from 10am until time
of service.
Robert John Bauer was born on April 20, 1925 in Loyal, WI, the son of Paul O.
and Lorene (Hubing) Bauer. He was raised on the family farm and received his
education at Mack School. As a young man, Bob hauled milk for Gempler's Cheese
Factory, which later became Mech's Cheese Factory. He was united in marriage on
October 4, 1947 to Elaine R. White at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Loyal.
They purchased a farm in 1950 in the Town of Eaton, where they raised their
family of 10 children and resided until selling the farm in 1980. After selling
the farm , he purchased a hobby farm near the city of Loyal. His wife, Elaine,
passed away on October 4, 1982. He retired from farming in 1989 and moved into
the city of Loyal and worked part-time for Carquest, delivering parts. Bob
married Hedwig A. "Dickie" Klinke on October 24, 1992 at St. Mary Catholic
Church, in Greenwood. He continued to stay busy helping neighbors do field work,
and, for 17 years, he and his wife drove for Clark County Social Services taking
people to clinic appointments.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Lady
of Fatima Council #4963.
Bob had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family and
friends, fishing, the casino, hunting, cutting wood, gardening, and being
outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Dickie, of Loyal; 8 children: Jo Ann L. (Antonio)
Mansolo of Waco, TX, Roberta A. Bauer of Springfield, TN, David A. (Sue) Bauer
of Marshfield, Lonnette M. (Tom) Duell of Medford, Shari L. (Ken) Volovsek of
Challis, ID, Lori A. (Harry) Bentzler of Silt, CO, Wayne L. (Kelly) Bauer of
Loyal, Douglas P. (Kelly) Bauer of Stratford; 25 grandchildren; 53
great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one daughter-in-law:
Laurette (Charles) Gleisner of Spencer; 4 step daughters: Geraldine (Gayle)
Schoengarth of Neillsville, Susan (Larry) Pakiz of Greenwood, Diane (Gary) Olson
of Glenwood Springs, CO, Judy (Dave) Hinker of Greenwood; 13 step grandchildren;
15 step great-grandchildren; one brother: James (Lucille) Bauer of Marshfield;
one sister-in-law: Louise Bauer of Loyal; many nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine; 2 sons: Mark Bauer
on July 26, 1980 and Dennis Bauer on December 11, 2007; 4 grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; one step-daughter: Janet Oben; 3 sisters: Phyllis Eriksen,
Marjorie Rueth and Doris Braun; and 2 brothers: Harvey and Richard Bauer.
