Mr. and Mrs. Norman Erickson of Stoughton drove Cornel Erickson to his home
Saturday from the Veteran's Hospital at Madison, where he had been a patient for
the past six weeks.
Mrs. Alum Phillips returned home Saturday after having been confined the past
two weeks at St. Joseph's at Marshfield as a medical patient.
Mrs. E.W. Sutter flew home Tuesday evening after being gone for three weeks. She
visited her daughter Gretchen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Kapes in Danville,
New Jersey, and stopped off in Park Ridge, Ill. to see her brother, Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald Richardson.
Mrs. Frank Zalabsky Sr. and son Frank Jr. left Tuesday morning for Barron, where
Frank will remain at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Anderson and family. Mrs.
Zalabsky will return home today.
Mr. and Mrs. Foster Will and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rineck drove to Green Bay Sunday,
where they attended the Packer-Bear game.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zalabsky and son Frank Jr. attended the annual Union Banquet
held Sunday by the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Local 795 at
Amacoy Lake Resort at Bruce.
A number of football fans from this community attended the Packer-Bear game at
Green Bay Sunday. Included in the group were Jim Albert, Bob Whittemore, Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Gay, Dr. and Mrs. R.E. Arneson, Eddie Wendt, Geroge Ryan, Mr. and
Mrs. Herb Utteck and son Jim, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Utteck, and Mr. and Mrs. Celand
Melbinger and son Lonnie.
Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Schultz of Stevens Point spent the weekend at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Loraine Fritz.
Mary Shreve of Eau Claire and Kitty Shreve of Stevens Point spent the weekend at
the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Mauel Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kloke and Mr. and Mrs. Luke Kloke of Campbellsport spent
three days at the H.B. Mauel Sr. home. Mrs. Ernest Kloke and Mrs. Mauel are
sisters.
Eleanor Mauel went to Wausau to join her sister Alice, and then continued to
Green Bay, where they attended the Packer-Bear game on Sunday.
H.B. Mauel and son Henry, and John Bacon spent Sunday fishing on the Jump River.
About 100 people attended the Black River Rod and Gun Club Field Trials at the
gravel pit on the Dick Laube farm Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Albert drove her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Munson, to Green Bay over
the weekend, after she had spent two weeks here visiting. On Sunday the Albert's
attended the Packer-Bear game.
Leaving today on an eight day moose hunting trip to Canada are Edward Potocnik,
Lloyd Woller, Allen Gajewski, Owen and Dr. James Koch of Colby.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Haas of Menasha arrived here Sunday from a trip to the east
coast, and returned to their home Monday, taking their two children, Jill and
Jeff, with them. The children had been staying with their grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. E.M. Erickson during their parent's trip.
Attending the 'Open House' of the new bank building in Colby Saturday were Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Fricke, Miss Natalie Scherf and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bruchert, whow
ere also dinner guests from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Coral Room of the Colby Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Iver Larson of Marshfield visited the Paul Fricke home Sunday.
